A fall coffee bar is such an easy thing to set up in your kitchen-no matter the size. Whether you prefer drip coffee, a French press, espresso, pour over, or percolated, here are some ideas for creating a beautiful coffee station that will add cozy charm to your morning(or afternoon) routine.
But first, a story from my (precocious) childhood: Coffee is my favorite beverage, and has been as long as I can remember. When I was in second grade, my dad took me along on a business trip. At breakfast the first morning, I shocked the waitress at the hotel by requesting “children’s coffee, please”. She was surprised, and maybe a little shocked, but by golly, she had a “children’s coffee” waiting for me every morning of our stay. Of course, “children’s coffee” is mostly cream and sugar, with the barest hint of coffee in it. Thankfully, my tastes have grown up some, and I love unsweetened coffee too….sometimes.
Here are some of my favorite fall coffee bar accessories:
Mugs, Cups, and Spoons – Coffee Bar Essentials
My indoor fall decor often mimics nature, so that means natural and outdoorsy motifs. For my fall coffee bar, I’m using vintage game bird and hunting dog mugs with the cutest demitasse bamboo spoons. These tiny spoons are the perfect size for stirring your coffee and look so sweet displayed.
Trays, Platters, And Boards
To add interest, color, and pattern to your fall coffee bar, consider using trays, platters, and wooden boards. They can be used in a variety of ways – to corral coffee essentials, to display treats, or simply for decoration.
I’m using a thrifted silver plated tray to corral my sugar bowl and spoons. In the background, a Johnson Brothers platter is displayed.
Syrup Dispensers
For a coffee shop experience at home, consider adding flavored syrups to your morning coffee. I LOVE Monin syrups – especially the Stevia-sweetened ones. However, they don’t come in very pretty bottles, so I always decant mine into these lovely glass dispensers. What a difference they make!
Think Outside The Kitchen
You can set up a small coffee station just about anywhere – indoors or out.
If there’s no power or water handy, a woven tray holding a coffee carafe, cups, and add-ins makes the perfect mobile coffee bar. Coffee on our porch is one of my favorite weekend rituals – especially in the fall!
Have overnight guests? Create a small coffee bar on a dresser or table with a single-cup machine. I love my Nespresso Mini, but Keurig is also very popular. A simple touch like this can make your guests feel right at home.
Fall Coffee Bar Brunch
Coffee is such a low maintenance way to entertain. Recently, I helped set up a fall picnic-themed breakfast at our church. Here’s a couple of shots of the coffee/water table. Recognize the tree and pumpkins?
The wicker bottle basket was the perfect coffee cup holder for this table. It belonged to my great aunt – she kept sodas in it for company.
Make It Your Own
If you don’t drink coffee, you can set up a tea, cider, or cocoa bar. In the winter I like to add cocoa and toppings to my coffee station – feel free to mix it up! Shop around your home for meaningful decor you can add to your coffee bar to make it feel special and personal. Happy Nesting!
