Green…nature’s perfect neutral and a decorator’s staple. A color’s popularity tends to ebb and flow, but for the past few years, green has been a favorite – and it doesn’t seem to be going away. I’ve always decorated with green. In fact, it’s my favorite color! I even decorated my(half) of my freshman dorm in a lovely sage. Here are some of the green projects I’ve done over the years, and since I really don’t tire of it, more will be coming!

Bright Green Bedrooms And Bathrooms
Green is such a versatile color, and with so many shades, can create all sorts of feelings. From dark and cozy, to bright and happy, it’s a great bedroom accent.
I loved the green bathroom cabinets in our old home – they added a nice pop of color to an otherwise neutral room.
Moody Green Bedroom
I am currently color drenching my bedroom in Sherwin Williams Halcyon Green. It’s the dreamiest color but definitely a bit of a chameleon. Depending on the light, it can look anything from teal, to gray, to jade, to sage. A little tricky to work with but it’s so gorgeous I don’t care. Here are a couple of shots from around the bedroom:
Green Shelving
In our new home, I added deep teal green shelves to our library. They are the perfectly moody and look fantastic with burnt orange or magenta accents.
The other side of the library gets a pop of green from my Ficus benjamina. I’ve lovingly named her Frieda Ficus.
Green Accents To Make A Room Pop
You don’t have to drench a room in green for it to make a beautiful impact. Sometimes pops of green are just right for a space.
Take It Outside
Nature if FULL of green, but that doesn’t mean you can’t add more! Doors, garden gates, benches, trellises, window boxes all look lovely in green.
Mix And Match
You don’t have to use all the exact shade of green in your room. Mix it up a little and have fun with it. After all, nature does it beautifully! Happy Nesting!
